GARY LEE EDWARD KREIGH
Born in Anderson, Indiana, Gary is a two-cancer survivor, having had a rare form of testicular cancer in 2005 and then diagnosed with Stage IV bladder cancer that had metastasized to his lung in 2016. He’s undergone various treatments including chemotherapy and surgery and voluntarily entered therapy to better cope with the debilitating disease and then how to live again once the disease was under control. His struggles now center around the long-lasting effects of chemotherapy and surgery that has damaged various organs but hasn’t once regretted the decision to undergo the treatment.
Gary uses his thirty-five years in the fields of forensic accounting, fraud examination, and internal auditing to now write about corporate and social issues, and experiences that affect ordinary people in extraordinary situations. His books are primarily murder mysteries that include fraud and deception. Under the Callan Morrow Series, his first Why Birds Fall (2019) is about corruption in the aviation industry. His second under this series, Silence the Past (2022), won the American Fiction Award for Best Mystery under the Cozy Mystery Category and was Finalist in the Eric Hoffer Award. His third, Circle of Chesterfield (2023), is a mystery set in part in his childhood hometown of Chesterfield, Indiana. Gary’s Reverend Fountain Series is set in the 1950s in New Orleans where he lived for many years.
Gary’s experience spans the banking, retail, finance, education, and medical industries. He’s traveled to various beautiful and interesting places in the world and has met fascinating people along the way in his career and travels. He’s married to his wife, Tanna, of nearly fifty years and has three sons and three granddaughters. He also has three additional “sons” (who he loves as sons) and “grandchildren” in Brazil and Spain.
Gary now juggles his time and residence between New Orleans and Gulf Shores, Alabama.
